Dr. Chantal Peltenburg (N.C.)
Internist-infectiologist, specialized in hereditary metabolic diseases
Short introduction
Since October 2018, I have been working in the field of hereditary metabolic diseases. It is a challenging role due to the complexity of these conditions. I find it very rewarding to support patients with these disorders, as well as their families and loved ones.
Work experience & education
I trained as a medical doctor at LUMC in Leiden. I then completed my training as an internist-infectiologist at MUMC+ in Maastricht. Since 2014, I have been working at Erasmus MC, initially as an internist-infectiologist and, since October 2018, in training to become an internist in hereditary metabolic diseases. In July 2019, I successfully defended my PhD on side effects during HIV therapy and the role of a component of purine metabolism in these effects.
