Expert on disorders of amino acid and other organic acid metabolism
Urea cycle disorders (UCD) and organic acidurias (OA) are very complex metabolic disorders that require high-level expertise. The Center for UCD and OA has this expertise and is therefore recognized by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport as a national expert center.
The Center for UCD and OA sees both pediatric and adult patients. Our diagnostic lab has years of experience in rapid diagnosis of metabolic disorders. With a fast diagnosis the best treatment can be given to the patient as soon as possible by the team of medical specialists. On top of this, the Center of UCD and OA is engaged in high-level research and provides education to medical students and nurses.
