Dr. Nadine van der Beek (N.A.M.E.)

Short introduction

I have been working as a neurologist at Erasmus MC since 2014. I focus primarily on children and adults with neuromuscular diseases (disorders of the nerves and/or muscles). These are often complex, chronic conditions that require a multidisciplinary approach. I strive to optimize care and support for these patients. In addition to caring for patients with neuromuscular diseases, I conduct scientific research on Pompe disease, a rare hereditary muscle disorder.

Work experience & education

I studied medicine at Maastricht University. Afterward, I completed my neurology training at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. I further specialized in the field of neuromuscular diseases at Erasmus MC and the Hôpital universitaire Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris. Since 2014, I have been working as a neurologist at Erasmus MC. I earned my PhD with research on the clinical presentation, natural course, and effects of enzyme therapy in Pompe disease.
